Root cause: not the upload or the toolbar — your building photo uploaded and optimized correctly (verified by downloading the exact stored file: 1365×2048, intact). The featured/hero card's <img> had object-top instead of object-center (the only place in the blog module using that value), so for a portrait photo, cropping to the "top" only ever shows the sky before the building starts. Fixed by matching the object-cover (center) pattern already used everywhere else in the blog.
